Why become a guide?

Being a guide at GuideCompaniet is both exciting and challenging, but you’ll be part of an experienced and supportive team to help you along the way!

You need to enjoy working with people, bring positivity and energy, and be willing to go the extra mile for our guests. ❤️

Most importantly, you must love sharing great stories and have a genuine hunger for knowledge to provide the very best service. In return, you’ll experience how much guests will love and appreciate you!

Our guiding assignments are diverse, ranging from cruise ship tours to corporate and conference events.

If you are fluent in German, Spanish, or Italian (one or more) and this sounds like the perfect fit for you, we would love to hear from you!

  • Our guide training program combines lectures, city walks, and museum visits with practical exercises. Over several weeks, participants gain solid knowledge of Norwegian history, culture, and society, as well as guiding techniques.

The course includes self studies, both written and oral exams, plus a mandatory first aid course.

Those who successfully pass the exams will receive official authorization as a guide.

PS! The course will be held in English, so you need to have sufficient English skills to follow the training.

  • Duration: January 8– March 24, 2026

    Course fees: NOK 3,500
